Seedling Support UK is a not-for-profit organisation established to signpost new early-stage founders to the incredible ecosystem of support and opportunities in the region.
The mission is to provide an equitable and accessible environment for anyone wanting to start a business, regardless of socio-economic background, gender or health conditions.

About Seedling Support
Becky Baker
Becky began her founder journey in 2017 with her first start up K9 Nation. Having always worked for others, predominantly in the Legal sector, her expertise lies in project management and understanding of the software product lifecycle. The shift to starting a business from scratch was a steep learning curve. During her K9 experience Becky raised £250k in angel investment and learnt first hand the challenges of starting a business from the ground up with no network, connections or financial backing. Becky has since gone on to start a second business and still works in the legal sector, juggling her entrepreneurial ambitions and the need to have a regular income.
Katherine Megson
Katherine works as an Innovation Manager at Bruntwood SciTech, where she supports the growth of digital and tech startups, scale-ups, and established SMEs. She is passionate about connecting people and facilitates conversations, introductions, and networking across tech ecosystems regionally (especially in Leeds), sectorally, and nationally. With a background in finance, Katherine understands business needs and how innovation can drive growth. She successfully led Bruntwood SciTech’s first Female Founders Incubator cohort in Leeds, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, with the successful programme continuing in the city and expanding nationally. Her efforts were recognised when she was named Facilitator of the Year at the Leeds Digital Awards 2023 for her work on this and other initiatives. Katherine is a board member of The Lifted Project Regional Advisory Board and is also a committee member of One For The City, both based out of Leeds.
